Jaon Village, Kullu – HP: The Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra is a long religious journey that various devotees travel to reach the holy Shivlingam measuring 72 feet, at a height of about 18,570 feet at the top of the mountain. This pilgrimage site is dedicated to Lord Shiv Ji and is located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India.
Devotees came from various places to complete this adventurous trek of 32 km which consists of the beautiful natural views of the mountains, waterfall, and glacier covers on the rough paths. This trek is also considered the most challenging trek site present in India and is not allowed for devotees who are weak-hearted and physically sick. This year Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra will be held from June 28 to July 28, 2025, in the first phase. Later this yatra will be continued in July, August to 20th September 2025.
Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra 2025 Registration Date
This religious yatra is organized between July and August month every year for 10 to 15 days and consists of various base camps where devotees can stay during their tracking journey, the first base camp of this yatra is Singhaad, and the basic facilities are also provided to the devotees in all these base camps which are organized by the government of Himachal Pradesh. The trek is considered one of the most difficult in India similar to Kinner Kailash Yatra which is also held in Himachal Pradesh.

Procedure for Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra Online Booking 2025
- First, go to the official website of Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra i.e. www.shrikhandyatra.hp.gov.in
- On the web homepage, scroll down and click on Register of Shrikhand Yatra.
- After clicking the link you will be redirected to the Online Registration Form of the Yatra.
- Fill in all the basic required details in the registration form and click on the Register option below.
- Make sure to upload the ID proof and the latest Medical Certificate.
- Now you have to pay the Registration fee of INR 250.
- After paying the fees your Registration will be successful and you will also get a message on your mobile phone for the same.

The religious journey of the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra starts from Jaon village after covering a distance of 3 km you will reach Shighaad which is the first base camp of this yatra, Langarh, a food facility is available in this base camp. There is also a mandatory medical checkup for all the devotees. Next, there is a 12 km uphill trekking route to reach Thaachru. Thaachru is also known as Dandi-Dhaar which is another base camp visitors can stay here and all the basic facilities are also available in the camp.
Shrikhand Mahadev Trek Details
From Thaachru there is an uphill track of 3 km to Kali Ghati, which is dedicated to Goddess Kali. After reaching Kali Ghati there is a 1 km downhill track to reach Bheem Talai. Now a track of 3 km will be covered to reach Kunsa Valley, consisting of various Himalayan flowers. There is another base camp Bheem Dwar at a distance of 3 km, this camp also includes all basic facilities for visitors.
Parvati Bagh is another base camp, which is 2 km from Bheem Dwar. Now from Parvati Bagh, there is a holy lake Nain Sarovar which is 2 km far from it. Finally, at a distance of 3 km from Nain Sarvar Lake, there is the sacred Shivlingam present at the top of the peak of the mountain.
Important Points for the Yatra
- This year Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra will be held from 28th June to 20th September in 4 phases.
- In case of not undertaking the Yatra and being found unwell in the medical checkup at base camp Sinhagad, the registration fee will not be refunded.
- People below 18 years and above 60 years of age are advised not to undertake the Yatra.
- Registration is mandatory, if you undertake the Yatra without registration, you may be sent back from any base camp.
- The registration fee is ₹250 only per person (Yatris).
As per the latest updates from the government of Himachal Pradesh and the Tourism department, all the responsible authorities are up on their mark to start the Yatra in June-July 2025. The online registration process will be open from May month of this year. Devotees can make their plans accordingly.
