The Champion Trophy is one of the biggest events of this year which is going to be hosted in Pakistan and Dubai next month and will take place from February 19 to March 9, 2025. However, the event is going to be organized on the Hybrid model once again because BCCI refused to play in Pakistan because of security reasons. After winning the T20 World Cup in 2024 Team India is participating in the Next tournament in February 2025. All the preparations are done by the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI).
ICC Champion Trophy was introduced in 1998 by the International Cricket Council. Earlier the event was known as the ICC Mini World Cup and ICC KnockOut Trophy. The event is played in One Day format and all the teams are divided into two groups two top teams from each group will move up to the next level of the tournament and other teams will be eliminated from the tournament. This year there are no specific changes are introduced by ICC in the tournament.

After winning the T20 World Cup team India once again played in an international tournament in Feb-Mar 2025. In recent times, the performance of team India has not been very good on the ground. as India lost the domestic test match series against New Zealand and the Gavaskar Border trophy in Australia. After defeat in both series, India also lost the chance to play in the ICC Test World 2025.
BCCI already announced the squad of the team India for the Champion trophy under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir. After losing two text series Gautam Gambhir has another chance as the coach in the champion trophy 2025. According to the cricketing schedule, India will play against England One Day and the T20 cricket match before joining the champion trophy in 2025.

BCCI announced the Captain and Players List for the Champions Trophy 2025
The tour of the England Cricket team for One Day and T20 matches will start in Feb 2025 just before the champion trophy. The team India Squad of the domestic series has not been announced yet but according to the ICC Rule complete team member list for the champion trophy is submitted to the ICC.
This time once again Rohit Sharma is going to lead the team India in the Champion Trophy after he retires from the T20 format of International cricket. Of course, Virat Kohli is also part of the team India. Young Shubhman Gill will have an important role as the vice-captain in the series.
In the press conference, Rohit Sharma and chief Selector Ajit Agarkar announced team India On 18th January in Mumbai. All the selectors are quite confident about the balance of the team as one of the Key Pace bowlers Mohammad Shami is returning to the team after a long time due to his injury in the 2023 World Cup.
