Basant Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of the ‘Magha’ Month of the Lunisolar Calendar of Hindu Dharma The festival is celebrated all over India with various myths and religious beliefs. The fifth day of the Magha month is connected with Saraswati Devi, Goddess of Knowledge, Art, Music, and Language. Basant Panchami is celebrated not only in India but also in other countries including the Biggest Muslim countries Indonesia, Bali, Nepal, and Pakistan. The festival is also connected with Lord Krishna, and Kama Deva, the God of Love with Lord Shiva and Parvati in Hindu Culture.
In the Northeastern region of India, Basant Panchami is celebrated with Devi Saraswati and all the students worship the goddess Saraswati. Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, and Tripura are the states where the students offer prayers to the Goddess of Knowledge at their homes and schools by offering special prayers. The fifth day of the first month of the spring season in India is the Sri Panchami (बसंत पंचमी).

All the celebrations of the festival, specifically the offering of the Saraswati Puja will take place according to the Shubh Mahurat. The Saraswati Puja is now celebrated by a major part of India.
