Bhupendra Patel alias Bhupendra Rajnikant Patel is the current and 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat since 2021. He was elected as the Chief Minister in the year 2021 from the Ghatlodia Assembly constituency in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly since the year 2017. He serves as a distinguished member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has begun his career in the municipal bodies of Ahmedabad.
He was born on 15 July 1962 to Gujarati parents in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Bhupendrabhai Patel received a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad in April 1982. Later, he was associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a Karyakarta. Bhupendrabhai Patel started his political career after becoming a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly for the Ghatlodia constituency after winning the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, running against Shashikant Patel of the Indian National Congress. About Gujarat CM Bhupendr Patel’s Political Journey
Bhupendra Patel was elected as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on 11th September 2021 when the then-chief minister resigned from the post. Afterward, BJP elected him as its legislative party leader, and subsequently on 13th September 2021 he was sworn in as the chief minister of Gujarat. Then again in the 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections, BJP won 156 seats out of 182 seats. Consequently, Bhupendra Patel took oath as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat for the second time.
He came into PM Narendra Modi’s good books when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. And Patel took charge as chairman of the standing committee of AUDA. What is CPGRAMS?
CPGRAMS stands for Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System. It is an online platform available to citizens to lodge their grievances. To the authorities on any subject related to service delivery. It is a single portal that is connected to all the Ministries. And other departments of the Government of India and States.
It provides a facility to appeal to the citizens if they are not satisfied with the resolution by the Grievance Officer. The citizen has an opportunity to give feedback if the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel – New IT Policy
CM Bhupendrabhai Patel launched a new Gujarat IT and ITeS policy to promote swift and inclusive growth in the IT sector in Gujarat. The period of the enforcement of this policy is from 2022 to 2027. He was of the view that this policy would help the State to contribute to one of the eight dreams of the Prime Minister i.e. “Berozgari se Mukt, Rozgari se Yukt”.
He stated that the objective and purpose behind the introduction of such policy is to create a highly-skilled, industry-ready IT talent pool; provide a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure; develop a unique and simplified incentive scheme; establish a robust cloud ecosystem in the State and foster research & development in modern and emerging technologies.
